Millwork Design

Millwork Design

Millwork design is the process of transcribing ideas and concepts into scaled designs and shop drawings. Once created, the millwork design drawings are the blueprints we use to construct your project. Millwork design is the first stage of the building process for interior adornments such as cabinets, countertops and ceiling trims for any client who doesn’t already have the design, shop drawings, and blueprints that The Mill Shop uses to create a cost estimate and ultimately build from. The process usually starts in one of two ways:

Established Brands

If you’re a Fortune 1000 company or other established brand, you likely already have the millwork design drawings we need to bid on your project. On the other hand, you may be initiating a redesign. If so, our team is here to support that effort too. In either case, please fill out the contact/estimate form and a member of our team will get back to you right away.

Startups or Challenger Brands

If you’re a startup or challenger brand, you may already have some ideas or a look in mind for your interior spaces. In this case, we set up an initial consultation where we work to understand your design concepts. Do you have inspirational photos that can give us a sense of the style – the look and feel – that expresses your vision? We get a feel for what you think looks cool and what you don't like so we can match what you envision. Then, we introduce material types, finishes, hardware styles and let you touch and feel those. From there, we put it on paper.

Throughout the entire process we work hard to keep in mind the goal of our collaboration with you: an understanding that you’re creating a vibe, an atmosphere, a space. We bring together all our resources, expertise and passion to help create that vibe – the appealing environment that your customers, clients or members want to be in and feel at home in.
